Due to the font and the layout of the paper, it does make it very difficult to read at times. And a personal comment-- as someone who works in HR, I can certainly understand the frustrations of not having enough bodies\/people but having that budget restraint always on the mind :) Great report!","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]},{"id":"47501568","dateCreated":"1322941513","smartDate":"Dec 3, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"rakay","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/rakay","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/mbaeconfall2011.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/47501568"},"dateDigested":1532762579,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"Holiday indifference curves","description":"I thought the books analysis of gift exchanges on pages 136 and 137 was right on target. My husband and I have this conversation every year around the holidays. Inevitably, the older generations in my family purchase a gift(s) for my husband that he has no use for. They request Christmas lists every year, but then do not purchase items from them. He always says "I'd rather they just give me the $15 than buy me a shirt I won't wear." He prefers gift cards so the person can go out and do the "shopping" part of the holidays, but he still gets to pick out the exact item he would rather have. Gift cards made a lot more sense to me after reading page 137 because stores win with gift cards too - the revenue stays within the store, as opposed to being lost when an item is returned and refunded for the recipient to go purchase an item elsewhere.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]}],"more":false},"comments":[]},"http":{"code":200,"status":"OK"},"redirectUrl":null,"javascript":null,"notices":{"warning":[],"error":[],"info":[],"success":[]}}
